Bright Night Event

This year, Bright Night was held at the Sleepy Ridge Golf and Country Club. You know that scene from Happy Gilmore where he is first introduced to the tour and they are at a really nice, mansion/castle looking club house? Yeah, this is pretty much the same thing. The women of Bright Night have the highest respect from me. For months, they plan this amazing night out for women to come together and give back to their community. They bring in inspirational women that speak to the group, giving us the confidence we need to endure daily tasks. Oh yeah, and the dance parties? They are pretty much the best.

This was my first Bright Night Event, but had heard about the others. As soon as news broke about this one, I knew I HAD to go! So, we all got our tickets in January. These events usually sell out the same day, so if you see one you want to attend, you really have to act quick. Four months I waited for this night, so you can imagine the anticipation. Upon arrival, every one of the attendees received a Sage & Harper bag chuck full of goodies. Never heard of Sage & Harper? Shame on you. JK, I was in the same boat, but then again I'm not fashion savvy and I don't have kids :). Anyway, she has some of the cutest diaper bags I've ever seen. (No, this is NOT a pregnancy announcement). The bags are so cute, they don't even look like diaper bags! So, of coarse I'm going to use mine for everyday. Back to the goodies. Each bag had leggings from Agnes and Dora, earrings from the Bohemian Market, a littles bow tie from Trendy Ties, little gal head bow from Baby Bling Bows, wooden necklace from Sweet Saltwater Designs, vintage head wrap from Vintage Rose Wraps, littles sunglasses from Subsidy Shades, whole food cookbook by activz.com, a fun treat bag from Gygi.com, Smart pop popcorn from One Good Thing by Jillee, and lots more!

One of the first things we did was put together these kits for the women's shelter. They mentioned they were in need of birthday kits for the kids that don't have anything. I thought this was a great way to give back.

After listening to Ali Fenlon, owner of Sage & Harper, and Brooke White, runner up in American Idol, I was feeling empowered and ready to take on the world. These are two of the strongest women I've heard speak. They are both extremely humble, hardworking, and as a result, successful. They are such an inspiration for women everywhere.

Dinner was sponsored by Crio Bru, and can I just say the pizza from The Pizza Studio is pretty much to die for! I know, you're all thinking "YOU ATE PIZZA?" Yes. Sometimes, when you are starving and stuck in a bind, you have to eat whatever is available. And it was kinda my treat night.

Anyways, besides the pizza, Crio Bru sponsored a dessert area that included cookies, chocolate, and my own personal favorite, S'mores. Yep, they had an area all set up to cook your own s'more. That plus Crio Bru chocolate and graham cracker, well, it was heavenly.

Next came the dance party. This is primarily what our group goes for. The girls that host the event definitely know how to throw a dance party! Complete with a photo booth (because what party is complete without one?!), cupcakes from Sweet Tooth Fairy, candy and diet coke (no, I was not a participant of the soda), what more can a girl ask for!

We definitely had a great time. Lots of fun to be had being surrounded by empowering women!

The next event will be held in Ogden (finally, a local party) in June. Definitely get your ticket before it sells out, it should be a lot of fun!

Shoutout to ALL of the sponsors and those involved in this amazing event, as well as the photographer responsible for all the photos you see above, Mckenzie Deakins.
